In 1994, she was an organizer co-chair of the Workshops held in Bologna in conjunction with the European Conference on Object-Oriented Programming (ECOOP94).

In January 1995, she was one of the founders of the Italian TABOO Association (Advanced Technologies based on Object-oriented concepts) that had the aim to increase the information exchanges between industrial and academic institutions in the OO area. She was a Member of the TABOO Scientific Council and was its Vice President from 1995 until 1998.

She also acts as a reviewer for several magazines (for example, ACM Computing Survey, IEEE Computer and IEEE Concurrency) and conferences (for example, ECOOP and ISCOOP).

She is a member of the Italian AICA Association and of Softech-ICT.
